What’s causing high heart rate?

I’ve been dealing with racing heart issues when I get up from laying down my heart rate increases and if I stand it doesn’t go down quick it stays high. I also deal with high heart when at rest I don’t know what is this but I remember going to the hospital for high heart rate and doctors found slight abnormalities in my EKG.

Hello,

Symptoms you described are not normal. You have to see your doctor for repeat testing ECG as well as 24-hour heart rate monitoring (so-called Holter monitoring, as well as ECHO cardiogram for heart chambers and valve evaluation).
There are many causes of increased heart rate such as coffee, energy drinks, amphetamines, and heart problems to name a few. With your history of an abnormal ekg, I suggest you see your doctor for a complete cardiac work up to rule out anything dangerous. There is a syndrome called WPW or Wolfe-Párkinson-White syndrome that can be missed on ekgs. The doctor needs to be trained to recognize delta waves on ekgs.
