Sometimes it is is a matter of personal preference of the patient. it can also depend on the health, strength, position and number of teeth in the mouth as to which material will best restore your missing teeth. Your dentist should be able to help you decide your preference based on the factors just mentioned. Both men & women like the flexible plastic -like partials because they are strong, flexible in nature and often feel more comfortable than metal partials.. There is also the cosmetic factor to consider. They often just look more natural in the mouth. I hope this helps
The both have plusses and minuses and I think that is a conversation you should have with your dentist.
Every case is individual. For some people, metal-based partials are suitable, for others, plastic ones.
A metal partial will be more durable in the long run.
The best partial denture material depends on your expectations and preferences. If you are looking for a more esthetic option where there are no metal clasps visible, you might want to consider a plastic partial. If you are concerned about strength and longevity, a metal partial would be recommended. There are also partials that are a hybrid of these two and are becoming more popular recently.
It depends on the existing teeth; if you have teeth behind the missing teeth area, you should be okay with flexible partial, but if there are no teeth in the back of the missing teeth area, metal partial would work better. You also have the option of asking for the combo which works better as far as function and cosmetics.
I prefer metal partials, especially if you have no teeth in the back. Certain plastic partials are made of material where teeth can not be added to them and are very flexible which can be more comfortable, but not as strong.
