Why are my eyes dry after laser surgery?

I had laser eye surgery 2 days ago. My eyes are dry after that. Is it normal? Should I see a doctor?

A common reason to have LASIK is that the eyes are dry and contact lens wear is compromised due to the dryness.  Others develop new dryness because of the procedure. Why?  The flap that is cut also cuts through the nerves that detect dryness. Recovery is about 85% and that translates to about 8% having post-LASIK dryness.  You are only two days out and so don't obsess about this lasting. It takes 3 to 6 weeks for recovery so not until then will you know if your dryness is longer lasting.  So just relax now- apply lubricating drops if needed and hopefully, things will recover well for you.  By the way-do not use the drops that say "gets the red out" as they are drying.
That’s normal . Use eye drops
