Are contact lenses good for eyes?

I am a 27 year old male. I want to start wearing contact lenses. Are contact lenses good for eyes?

There's nothing wrong with contact lenses. Just make sure you are fit properly. And please do not sleep in the contacts no matter what the box says. Sleeping in contacts is probably one of the more dangerous things you can do.
Depends. Great asset for certain refractive issues, but good hygiene and caution practices should be taught to the potential user.

Contact lenses can correct the refractive error in an eye, but contain risks such as infections and hypoxia.

They are fine as long as you take care of the lenses correctly.

Put another way, contacts are not bad for your eyes, if worn responsibly. The improved technology of the materials and designs allows the wearer better vision, comfort and eye health than past contact lens materials afforded. They can even be better visually than glasses in some cases - depending on the prescription. Not everyone is a good candidate for contact lens wear, however, and it is up to your doctor to decide if it would be appropriate for you to wear them.
Good for active people, for sports.
