Are heart rhythm problems a sign of heart disease?

My heart sometimes beats very fast for no apparent reason. I'm only 28 years old, so I feel like I'm too young to have heart issues. But heart disease runs in my family. Are heart rhythm problems a symptom of heart disease?

1 Answer

It depends on the rhythm problem, for example atrial fibrillation can suggest a heart problem, not necessarily severe, but occasional palpitations and dropped beats are very common and don't necessarily mean underlying disease.
