Transplant Surgeon Questions Gastroparesis

Can I get a stomach transplant?

80% of my stomach was removed due to gastroparesis. I am nauseated most of the time. I have been losing weight due to being nauseated. Can I get a stomach transplant?

No, the stomach is not ever transplanted. It is quite unusual to have surgery to remove part of the stomach for gastroparesis. You need to be careful and make sure the diagnosis is correct. It would seem that getting surgery has not helped your symptoms, so I question the original diagnosis.
Not that I know of. Consult GI.
Not really. This is a condition you can discuss with your specialist.

Unfortunately no. There are some centers in the United States that are performing intestinal transplants, but to the best of my knowledge, stomach transplants are not a known procedure.
