Sometimes patients can wake up agitated and scared, that can make you aggressive, but usually it is short lived with no long-term effects.
When awakening from general anesthesia, some patients go through a phase that is called the excitement phase where they may seem agitated or distressed, but they are not truly awake yet. After further ventilation and elimination of anesthetic gases, the patient can awaken with a normal effect. Uncommon is the awakening with a strong negative outlook, or
delirium, called "emergence delirium" that may be related to some past history of a personal traumatic event or severe underlying emotional distress. In those cases, medications such as benzodiazepines can alleviate those symptoms.
Agressivity agitation and disorientation is a side effect of anesthesia. Could be for hours
