Can chest pains be associated with puberty?

My son is 14 and has been struggling with chest pains. I would like to take him to the doctor, but my husband thinks it's "growing pains" because my son's going through puberty. Can chest pains be associated with puberty?

1 Answer

Not usually. We see leg pains with rapid growth and breast enlargement even with boys that can be tender when touched with puberty. However, he would need to be checked to make sure the pain is benign.
