Sleep Medicine Specialist Questions Sleep Apnea

Can a child grow out of sleep apnea?

My uncle's son keeps snoring, and I believe it's sleep apnea because it's just so loud. My uncle doesn't think it's that though and believes that it's normal. Is it possible for children to grow out of sleep apnea?

Sleep apnea is never normal in children and can cause serious injury. The problem should be brought to the attention of your pediatrician who will help you with this problem
This response does not substitute for a medical evaluation. In my opinion, if sleep apnea is suspected, an evaluation is indicated with the sleep specialist.
