Pediatrician Questions Urinary Tract Infections

Can diapers cause urinary infection?

My daughter is 3 years old and she still wears a diaper. Can this lead to urinary tract infections for my daughter?

No
Usually the diaper pulls the moisture away from the urethra and should not cause infection. When she has soiled and you are wiping her wipe from the front to the back to keep bacteria in the stool from getting in the urethral area.
