Cardiologist Questions Aspirin

Could Aspirin make me anxious?

I had a bypass and I have been advised to take Aspirin. However, I feel quite anxious. Could it be because of the new regimen?

No. Aspirin is not known to cause anxiety. Having said that, anxiety and depression are extremely common after a cardiac event like yours, possibly related to subliminal fears after such a scary and worrisome change in your medical history. Review this with your cardiologist who will likely allay your concerns, but he would also look for other causes.
Probably not from the aspirin. Adria. Rehab will help.
Aspirin is not known to cause anxiety directly, but it can cause stomach discomfort especially at night, which could disturb sleep and lead to anxiety. It is much more likely that the experience of undergoing heart surgery could cause a kind of post-traumatic stress disorder, experienced an feeling anxious –this generally settles with time and resumption of normal physical activity.
