I am a 27 year old female and I have a gum abscess. Does a gum abscess require surgery?

Usually it’s a sign of infection which should be elvaluated. Sometimes it can be from a cavity or the gum tissue. Hope this helps Dr Satko
Depends on the size and location of the abcess. Some teeth need extraction or a root canal when this happens. Some teeth need periodontal surgery. Some teeth need a deep cleaning due to food being stuck in the area.
