Does chiropractic care release toxins?

I want to have a chiropractic adjustment for my spine, and I heard that it releases toxins. Is that true?

Increased Nerve function results in increased blood supply, which results in increased homeostatic function and a greater elimination of toxins.

Great question. The adjustment itself does not inherently release toxins, however, the process of having a joint adjusted creates an effect similar to that of working out in which lactic acid can create some soreness. This soreness, if not explained properly can lead some to believe that the adjustment released toxins, which would be an inaccurate description.

A chiropractic adjustment does not release toxins. It simply restores normal motion patterns to joints that are not moving properly. Muscle work such as massage and deep tissue treatment can release some toxins such as lactic acid into the bloodstream. This is usually not harmful, however, drinking water after a vigorous massage is recommended.

Adjustments do not release toxins, they put your structure back into proper alignment where the nerves and muscle can function optimally, this optimal function allows the body to do its process of eliminating toxins and waste material from the cells.
A Chiropractic adjustment aids the entire body function better, so it is likely that your body will more effectively release toxins after treatment.
