Does massaging gums help gingivitis?

I am a 34 year old female and I have gingivitis. Does massaging gums help gingivitis?

What you want to do is brush well at and slightly under the gum line to remove the plaque. It is more about cleaning the hard tooth surface than massaging the gums.
The most important actions for gum/periodontal health are brushing and cleaning in between the teeth. Floss is the most effective way to clean between. If you are doing those things, adding gentle gum massage could be helpful as well.
Gingivitis is the first stage of gum (periodontal) disease and fortunately it is reversible. Massaging the gums will help postoperatively after the treatment of the cause for gingivitis, so you should have a consultation and exam with a dentist first.
Yes, along with brushing, flossing, and visits to your dentist.
No. Improved hygiene and the incorporation of an automatic toothbrush as well as a waterpik would be my only recommendation.
Hi,

Messaging you gums probably will not help your gingivitis. Gingivitis is inflammation of the gums cause by a foreign body or bacteria. That is usually plaque. Inflammation is characterized by redness, swelling and bleeding. What will help, is proper brushing to remove plaque from around the gum line, flossing to remove plaque in between the teeth, and ultimately, going to your dentist to have a professional cleaning to remove all the plaque, but any tartar (old plaque) that has formed and created a rough surface where new plaque sticks more easily.
