Pediatrician Questions Diaper Rash

Are there any home remedies to treat diaper rash?

My baby has recently developed diaper rashes. There are commercial diaper creams available in the market but i am not sure of their efficacy. Are there any trusted and safe home remedies to treat diaper rashes in small babies?

Do frequent diaper changes, avoid corn starch powder and use skin protectant with zinc oxide,
It depends on the type of diaper rash and how severe it is. If it is a very mild rash, you can try calendula cream, cornstarch or air drying (i.e. putting a sheet down on the floor and having your baby wear no diaper so no more urine or BM touches the inflamed skin.
A half-and-half mixture of Maalox and cold cream (eg Pond's) works well for diaper rashes.
Yes cornstarch paste
There are several different types of diaper rash, which is why there are so many creams. For home remedies, baby powder and corn starch are great preventives. Aloe vera can be very soothing. For diaper rashes which look like the skin is scalded from diarrhea, mixing maalox and baking soda works very well. If you were to buy only one diaper cream, I would recommend butt paste. It works great.
