Hello,

As always, as long as no fever, try salt water gargles and honey lemon drops. If not better, recommend to go see an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist.

More than likely this may be the initiation of a viral type syndrome. The throat does respond with increasing swelling to fight off infection. Discomfort may settle down after 48 hours and if persisting symptoms occur, consult your clinician. Ordinarily, hydration and acetaminophen may help out.
Gargle 3 or 4 times a day with warm water and salt ( one teaspoon in a quart of water)

If not better in 3 days see your Dr.
No substitutes for being seen and properly diagnoses, but, generally speaking, gargling with warm salt water can help. One can also add 100% pure Oregano oil (1-2 drops) to the salt water and gargle with that. If is isn't getting better, please see a professional.
