Pediatrician Questions Bedwetting

How can I prevent son from bed-wetting?

My son is 5 years old and he's wetting his bed. It's been happening once a week, maybe? I don't know how to really prevent it or address the problem. I just clean his sheets when it happens immediately. What should I do to help him?

See your pediatrician and rule out urinary tract infection. Talk to him and see if there is a pattern! Or a problem
A lot of children lack the hormone called antidiuretic hormone which makes you not make much urine at night. Subsequently they make as much urine at night as during the day. So they will bed wet even after you have gotten them up. You can try alarms, limiting fluids after 6 pm, medication oral ddavp tablets, etc. He can wear pull ups at night until he is a little older when the hormone matures.
