How do respiratory therapists treat cystic fibrosis?

My son's friend has cystic fibrosis, and was diagnosed with the disease when he was just a baby. Now he's 6 years old, and his parents are taking him to a respiratory therapist. How do they treat cystic fibrosis?

A Respiratory therapist will perform chest therapy which will help in breaking up the mucus and help in get it moved out of the lung. My therapist go to the patients home.
By helping in airway clearance techniques.
