How do you get rid of gastritis fast?

I am a 38 year old male with constant gastritis. How do you get rid of gastritis fast?

1 Answer

It depends on the cause of the gastritis, but most gastritis is chronic and cannot be easily resolved. However, it is very important to recognize that most gastritis does not cause symptoms. Almost everyone who gets an EGD has some baseline gastritis, but it generally cannot explain symptoms that a patient might be having. So, if you were my patient, I would focus specifically on what symptoms you have and treat those, which probably won't involve trying to get rid of the gastritis. H. pylori infection is one of the only causes of gastritis that can be successfully treated. In general, it is recommended to eradicate H. pylori if a patient tests positive for it, but even doing this may not relieve upper GI symptoms.
