How do you stay calm during an MRI?

I'm 38 years old and I'm going to have an MRI scan of my spine, but I'm a little nervous. Is there anything that I can do to stay calm during my MRI?

They will give you head phones and you can listen to music of your choice
Hi,

Just close your eyes, breathe deep, and picture yourself at your favorite vacation spot. It is really not bad. If you are a type of person that is very claustrophobic, you could get a script of Xanax from your doctor, but most people do well. \
I hope that helps.

Meditation, biofeedback and sometimes a benzodiazepine may be required.
we give oral valium or you can take a benadryl and keep your eyes closed, we also have headphones with music.
