Growth hormone is produce by the pituitary gland. Any medical condition that affects the function of the pituitary gland will affect his growth
The pituitary gland secretes growth hormone and thyroid hormone along with other hormones like cortisol stimulating and gonadal hormones. So a dysfunction in the pituitary can cause lower levels of the above hormones and thus slow growth.
