Pathologist Questions Stools

How long can I expect my results from a stool analysis?

I had to give a stool sample yesterday and I'm wondering how long it takes to get my results. Should I expect them this week? And, if not, is it okay for me to call the lab and ask for them?

Usually, 24 to 48 hours after the sample have been received in the lab. Thank you.
Depends on what’s being tested or the laboratory process. Please give the lab at least 3-5 days.
It would depend what all you were having done on it. You may want to ask your doctor that. If the doctor is doing a lot of tests on it, it may take up to three weeks for all results back.

It depends what was the analysis for, eggs, parasites, blood. Should be done within a week, a culture for microorganisms may take longer, give it 2 weeks.
