In my practice, I treat people twice a week until their pain stays gone between treatments, and then I see them once a week, and then once every other week. It's about actually healing the body, so it takes a while, but the eventual effects can last for months or years. I often see patients with migraines on a regular basis - once every few weeks or months, depending on the patient, to keep them from having the migraines.
The lasting effects in the beginning are short lived, but as the body strengthens and the source of the problem is effectively addressed, the duration increases over time, and can even be permanent.
If that doctor does the treatment right, the same syndrome should not easily come back.
It all depends. One treatment can relieve for good and in other occasion the condition comes back so soon that more treatment is necessary.
I’m so sorry I have forgotten to reply to this question. Effects from acupuncture will usually depend individually and be determined on how chronic your condition is. If this was a seasonal headache then maybe the effect can last until the following season; but if you had injured your head over 3 months ago the effects may last for a few days the first visit and treatment would be required to extend the relief for a week or even longer. Some people are more sensitive to acupuncture than others so sometimes they feel relief immediately and it lasts longer while others need multiple treatment before reaching the same point.

Different patients state the effects can last from 1 to 3 days.
Hi,

It's different for each individual since we have different responses to stimulation.
It depends how your body responds and who you see. It could be no result, a few hours, or forever.
It’s case dependent, but generally even if the treatments aren’t very strong, it’ll last for a week or so. Most cases 6-8 weeks and up to 12 for 80% of cases. Best case is 6-8 months.
I’ve been practicing acupuncture for more then 20 years and had a lot of patients with headaches and migraines. It works really well and is effective for years.
There are so many factors that can contribute to how long the effects will last. Usually the first treatment people feel better for a day or two and then symptoms creep back. That's why I like to see people within a week of their first treatment so we can remember what changes happened. Enjoy your treatment!
Hi,

Most headaches treated by my style can quickly better (about 4-6 times). The good effects can be seen in a few minutes.

Thank You for asking,

Dr. Shao
Every patient responds differently to an acupuncture treatment. Acupuncture builds on the previous treatment. The more treatments you do, the longer they last.

It depends. In my case, I integrate Qi and acupuncture together. Most of the headache problem is solved in one to three treatment. For chronic one, I can also heal them in average 5 treatment. It all depends on whether your acupuncturist can treat from the cause.
Hi,

It is hard to say from just few lines. Normally, if you just start treatment which your headache is not too bad. It works very well. If your symptom has been there for a longer. you may need more acupuncture treatments. Each treatment may give you from a day to a week of being symptom-free. If you continue the treatment, the result will keep you symptom-free longer.
Hope this answer your questions.

The treatments for headaches with acupuncture lasts depending of the reason of your headaches. With acupuncture we balance your body energy, tonify areas of your body that are deficient or simply work calming the tension that you can be experiencing. One treatment can last one day to one week, a series of three to six treatments can resolve your headaches for a long time.
Based on research studies, the effectiveness can last from 2 hours to 5 days per session.
Pain is an imbalance of Qi. Once it is balanced, you should have no more pain. We will advise you how to keep your Qi balanced and you free of headaches. It can take more than one visit but it will worth it.

Be well, be confident, we can help.
They will last for awhile. However it’s best to hit for 6-14 treatment close together to ensure sustainability
Totally depends on the cause. If you get to the root then the symptoms go away naturally
That depends on how you respond to the treatment style and your compliance with your practitioners treatment plan (dietary changes, exercises, herbs, etc.). Acupuncture does have a cumulative effect, however, so as you continue with regular treatments, your relief will last longer and longer.
One acupuncture treatment will have a lasting effect of 48-72 hours.
If you have chronic headaches, you should have a series of acupuncture treatments for best results. Acupuncture treatment has a cumulative effect, so the length of time between headaches lengthens during the course of treatment. The number of treatments depends on what’s causing your headaches. You will receive helpful information about this during your first visit.
It really depends on your body's reaction to the treatment. I have had patients who have had the results last for months or years, others where the results lasted hours or days. There is no guarantee how a body will react or what any individual results will be with any medical practice.

Discuss with your practitioner how things progress or don't so that they can better serve you in real time.

Good luck.
It is about 2 or 3 days, and the valid field maximum is after acupuncture 6 hours.
Good question. Some of the best studies we have around acupuncture are looking at pain management - including headache. Generally we see a couple of things:

1. There is a 'dose-dependency' in play. This means, to a point, more treatments usually give better and longer lasting effects. The average 'loading' dose of acupuncture in these studies is usually around 8 treatments.

2. Once you hit the 'loading' dose, the effects can persist for upwards of 12 months with very little fall off.

That being said, every person is an individual and there's no way to predict how quickly or slowly someone might progress.

For the best possible result, please make sure you're seeing a provider who is licensed as an acupuncturist in your state. If you're not in CA, you can use NCCAOM.org's "Find a Practitioner" look up.
