How much radiation is in CT scan?

My 13 year old son needs a head CT scan. I want to know how much radiation is in a CT scan?

It's variable, but with modern CT, very low. Consider MRI over CT; no radiation here.
A typical dose for pediatric head CT is 20 to 27 mGy. It is best to use a facility with experience in pediatric radiology and new equipment.
Depending on what type of CT he is having. Likely less than 3 tenths of a rad.
