Obstetrics & Gynecology Questions Weight and Pregnancy

How much weight gain is normal during pregnancy?

I've really been craving brie cheese and other things (usually fried) that I know are really fattening. I understand that I'm eating for two and I'm bound to gain weight. But how much weight is normal to gain during pregnancy?

Generally, weight of 20-40 pounds is recommended. The heavier on it is, the less weight is recommended and vice versa.
Typically, we recommend gaining 25-35 lbs depending on your pre-pregnancy weight.

Most OB’s like to keep their patients around 30 lbs or less, if possible.
