The first and most helpful thing for her will be to have a formal evaluation by an allergist who should be able to test for allergies and define exactly what your daughter is allergic to. That will help to select the best therapeutic approach for her - from simple medications such as over the counter antihistamines to nasal sprays, prescription medications, etc. Environmental measures can also be helpful depending on what her allergic sensitizations are. So talk with your pediatrician and have her evaluated by a specialist they feel comfortable working with and trust.
A good place to start with a 9-year-old is with an over-the-counter once-daily antihistamine such as Claritin or Zyrtec. Both come in pill or liquid forms and can be used daily if needed. If that is not sufficient, starting an over-the-counter nasal steroid spray (many different types) can be used. Both the antihistamine and nasal steroid sprays come in generic forms as well. If that does not do the trick, please make an appointment with a board certified allergist. They can do the necessary testing to determine to what she is allergic and can make further recommendations for treatment.
