Rheumatologist Questions Gout

Is there a cure for gout?

I generally take medication for my gout, but it's made little progress. My doctor says that this isn't a chronic condition, but it feels like my medication (NSAIDs) is just managing it and not completely treating it. Can gout be completely treated? If so, what's usually used for it?

Gout is a chronic condition, that if not controlled can lead to progressive arthritis, possible kidney problems, hypertension and this is PREVENTABLE
Gout is treated with Diet, weight management, exercise, avoidance of Alcohol excess and URIC ACID lowering drugs such as allopurinol and febuxostat. Gout is frequently under treated so my advice is to see a Rheumatologist
