Physiatrist (Physical Medicine) Questions Fibromyalgia

Is there a certain point when Cymbalta no longer helps fibromyalgia?

I started taking Cymbalta for my fibromyalgia and at first it really helped, but a year has gone by and I am hurting just as bad as before. Is there a certain point when Cymbalta no longer helps fibromyalgia?

I would imagine just like anything, your body adapts to it. Physical therapy can do wonders for fibromyalgia.
You may need to change or add a medication. Besides pills, you need to be as active as possible, participating in aerobic activity 30 minutes a day. That has been shown to be more effective than any medication so far in fibromyalgia treatment.

From Christopher Creighton
Most medication for pain loses efficacy over time as tolerance occurs or the disease worsens. A disease like fibromyalgia requires activity participation in diet exercise and supplements were indicated otherwise the natural course is for the disease to plateau or worsen.
