Pain Management Specialist Questions Abdominal Pain

Abdominal pain

I have been having pain in my lower right back and it intensifies by bending or standing for so long. I had lower right back pain for 1 week and in that week I experienced other symptoms. The pain started in my lower abdomen near belly and I would feel a sudden onset of pain in waves for about 3 minutes. I had to bend or slouch to endure it. After a week I went in emergency as my abdominal pain got worse, it was spread from lower to whole abdomen and I had fever and nausea. I got an IV injection and the pain subsided after sometime but the next time it striked again in my lower right back and lower right abdomen. From then, it's persistent. I sometimes feel sharp pain in the right side of my belly and feel heaviness in my lower right abdomen and i have been feeling so much pain in the right flank that I cannot even sit straight. I have been on medication for gas, I changed two docs. The one gave me medicine for infection and swelling in stomach and the other said that I just have gastric pain. And to add, I do feel my lower abdominal muscle is a bit hard sometimes.. I'm just so confused if I should take test or not.

There are a lot of pains in the back and abdomen. Difficult to make sense of it without more information. First, I would try to determine if all of these pains are from one source or two. The back pain may be causing the abdominal pain, but you need a proper diagnosis. Doesn't sound like the current doctors have given you an explanation, or it's possible that you are not fully understanding what they are telling you. Go back to those doctors or get yet another opinion.
Hello,

I am concerned about serious illnesses like appendicitis or some other GI disturbance. Please go to the ER or see your primary care doctor about this problem. For your low back, the pain may be referred from your abdomen or be another structure such as your lumbar facet joints or sacroiliac joint.
