My daughter is having scoliosis pain?

My 16 year old daughter is unable to see her chiropractor for her scoliosis because of coronavirus. How do I help her?

Exercises are the best help for scoliosis as a home program. Has your Doctor of Chiropractic give her exercises? I am keeping my office open as a necessary occupation under the strictest interpretation of the CDC guidelines.
Does your daughter have coronavirus? If not, she will be safe to see most doctors because we have to provide a safety standard to open our door to the public. If she is sick, rest and moist heat will be the best for her.
That's an interesting question. The quarantine time required is two weeks. After that, as long she appears fine, then it is safe for her to see her chiropractor who will be wearing a mask, as well as everyone else in the office.
I am not quite sure why she can’t see her chiropractor. As long as the appropriate precautions are taken (see my website www.SunCoastspinecare.com) there is no reason why she can’t see a chiropractor. If her chiropractor is closed, then I suggest you find an open office who is taking the precautions. I can tell you that my office has been open throughout the pandemic. We are overly careful. My staff constantly disinfects and we have not had a single case of coronavirus.
I understand your concern regarding Covid-19, however, we have been safely treating patients following the CDC protocols.

Depending on where you are located, I would say do your research and find a local chiropractor that is open, and can take X-rays on your daughter.

Chiropractors are essential health care professionals. I do not see any reason why she should not be seeing a chiropractor to help manage her pain.
I would massage her back daily using a pain cream if available (biofreeze, cbd, etc). I personally love to do cupping along the spine. You can purchase the silicon cups on amazon and there’s plenty of videos on YouTube on how to use those cups. I’d search ‘cupping using silicon cups.’ They work using suction so they’re very simple and easy to use. I’d put some of the pain cream down first and lay the cups along both sides of her spine from the low back all the way up as far as they‘ll go. On the videos they should show how you leave the cups on long enough for the skin to change a dark red/purple color. They’ll leave the bruises and that’s a good sign. It should only take 5-10min of the cups being on for them to bruise the skin. That’s what you’re looking for-the bruising is blood flow and it helps with pain and inflammation.
There are specific stretches and exercises that can be done at home to help patients with Scoliosis. I recommend searching for video demonstrations of these stretches and exercises on YouTube.
