Dentist Questions Gum Disease

My gums are turning blackish-pink. Is this something that comes with aging?

I am 59 years old. Over the past year, I've noticed my gums are becoming more blackish-pink in color. Is this normal for people as they age?

Not normal
If your gums are changing color be sure to visit your dentist and get checked for gum disease.
The colour of one’s gums is as individual as skin colour. Usually darker tones are due to melanin pigmentation, however, this is not age related. A professional evaluation is recommended if this condition still concerns you. Good luck.
