Dentist Questions Root Canal

What are the precautions that I need to take after a root canal?

I just underwent a root canal 2 days ago. What are the precautions that I should be taking after the procedure, and for how long should I take these precautions?

Don't bite or chew on the tooth, you probably have a temporary filling, you can fracture the tooth
Avoid eating on that side. If you feel the filling is touching before the rest of the teeth, go back to your dentist. Pain medication and maybe antibiotics are needed. You will need build up and a crown if a posterior molar shewing surface is almost flat to reduce lateral destructive force on the root and its fracture.
