Is it true that proteins build muscles during a workout?

I am working out in the gym and the gym instructor has recommended me to consume some additional protein supplements. What is the connection between muscles and proteins? Are they the only supplements that one should consume when working out?

When you work out muscles, you break them down. Your muscles are made of protein. Here are my 2 favorite products I use personally. Click the links and give them a try.:

If you're gaining muscle, proteins are building blocks for that growth. Your gym instructor is right in that protein supplements would aid in muscle growth. However, if you eat a well balanced diet every day supplements are not usually necessary. Unless you are a high performing athlete.

Our muscles are made of protein, and we can only grow muscle/increase muscle volume if our protein intake exceeds our protein breakdown. A protein supplement can be one way of achieving this, although a diet rich in protein will do the same thing - the timing is not crucial i.e. you don’t have to ingest protein immediately before a workout to have an effect. I don’t generally recommend other workout supplements, but don’t forget to keep hydrated.
Muscle is a protein. If you add protein, it will add more protein and will build more muscles.
