Pediatrician Questions Shower

Should children stop showering with their parents by a certain age?

My son is 4 and still takes showers with his dad. We started this to make sure that he's cleaning all the right areas. At what age is the right age for children to stop showering with their parents?

Usually when children or parents become uncomfortable. Usually by school age children can be taught to wash themselves.
This is a difficult questions, because depends of how long the child has been showering with his Dad, if he enjoys sharing the moment, if it is a normal routine, i see no problems what so ever. With time children will like some privacy and if they refuse being seen naked its important to respect his or her wishes.
Note: if the child shows anxiety or refuses, check further reasons.
There is no particular age when parents should stop bathing with their kids. Many would use entering school age as the age to stop. But whenever a parent or child starts to feel uncomfortable, it would be wise to stop.
