Periodontist Questions Teeth cleanings

Are there early signs and symptoms of periodontal problems?

I recently had a teeth cleaning, and the dentist also recommended that I should take care of my gums to prevent any diseases. Are there any early signs and symptoms of periodontal diseases that I should look out for? What are the best ways to take care of my gums to prevent any diseases?

Early signs of periodontal disease include gingival redness and bleeding upon brushing or flossing, there is a silent infection which means that there is no pain. Prevention is brushing your teeth 3 times per day and floss once a day at night. Also please remember to visit your dentist every 6 months Isabel C. Great question, there are early warning signs of periodontal disease. Which may include bleeding gums, receding gums, loose teeth, swollen/puffing gums, halitosis (Bad breath). Frequent professional cleanings and examinations is the key to prevention.
The initial signs are redness and bleeding of gums, gingivitis. This is a completely reversible disease if treated early. To prevent gingivitis, proper brushing and flossing is the best way. Your dentist, hygienist or periodontist can instruct you on the best technique for your mouth.
Going in routinely to your dentist can help. Coming to a periodontal office for an exam as well.
Signs of gum disease can include bleeding gums, swollen gums, receding gum‘s, tender gums, loose teeth, spaces between teeth, changing bite and bad breath just to name a few.
Early signs of periodontal disease are bleeding with brushing or flossing and tenderness of the gums. The best way to take care of your gums is to brush and floss daily. Some people need to use other cleaning devices that your dentist will recommend. It is also very important to have your teeth cleaned at the dental office on a regular basis. Some people only need to have their teeth cleaned every 6 months. Others need to go more often.
Early signs of periodontal disease are bad breath and bleeding, sometimes red gums. If you don't have these signs, it doesn't mean that you don't have periodontal disease. Only a dentist or periodontist can be counted on to diagnose the disease. The best way to prevent periodontal disease is to stay healthy, not smoke, brush and floss well, use an antibacterial mouthwash, and get regular dental cleanings.
Early signs would be, but not limited to:

-Bleeding gums
-Inflamed gums
-Pain around your gums
-Bone loss
-Tooth mobility
-Sensitivity
