Pediatrician Questions Fungal Infections

Son's nails are yellowish and brittle. Is this an infection?

My son's nail are yellowish and brittle, and it doesn't look right at all. I'm worried that this could be a fungal infection. Do these symptoms match-up with that? What do we do?

Hello

It sounds like a fungal infection. There are creams and pills for that. You can take him to your doctor for testing
Toenail and fingernail fungus can make the nails thickened, yellowish, and brittle. Try rubbing them with a vinegar soaked cotton ball 2 times a day and take vitamins for hair and nails. If this doesn't help, he probably will need oral anti-fungal meds.
