Is strength training better for weight loss?

Is it recommended to undergo strength training for weight loss or is it better to stick with cardio?

It’s best to do both cardio and strength training or resistance training for weight loss.
Great question. The answer is.....a combination of both. Weight training is great for weight loss and great to improve physical capacity. Having more muscle tone increases metabolic activity. Cardio is also good to improve overall cardiovascular endurance and cardiac output. There has been a significant amount of research showing that weight training is just as vital, if not more vital, then cardio for weight loss. That being said, you have to make sure you are in a caloric deficit. If you weight train and eat more calories than you should, you will only just "bulk up" .

A combination of both would help. I would start initially with cardio and then add strength training to it.
It is best to perform both, as well as eating healthy, with portion control.
A combination of cardio and strength training is optimal.
I think it’s very important to incorporate both. The heart is a specific type of muscle tissue and needs exercise, too, which only comes from cardio. Strength training is important for toning and firming skeletal muscle.
Yes, strength training will assist in helping you in meeting your weight loss goals. This does come with a caveat, as muscle weighs more than fat. This sounds pretty simple, yet many folks will get discouraged when they begin a strength training/weight loss program and do not see the numbers on the scale going down for 8-10 weeks.

Best of luck to you.
