tiny residual vsd

I am 18yo female and i have a history of several cardiac defects including vsd repaired in infancy. recent echo findings showed possible tiny residual vsd. while this is unlikly to need repair I am wondering if there is any future risk however small from the heart's exposure to minimal shunting over many years. can there be and effect on heart function or otherwise

Typically very small holes do not cause any issues, but it is important to know where it is located. If it is near areas that were repaired previously, you may need to take antibiotics before dental procedures or certain types of non cardiac surgery. This is something you should review with the cardiologist who is presently caring for you
