Hematologist (Pediatric) Questions Hemophilia

What are some symptoms of hemophilia?

I think my son has hemophilia, who is 5 years old. He's been having blood in his stool and nosebleeds quite often. Are these symptoms of hemophilia?

The symptoms of hemophilia are bleeding in the skin, bleeding after minor trauma or surgery or bleeding into joints. Bleeding from the nose and in the stools are more typical of low platelets or von Willebrand disease.
They are not. But he should have neither problem. He needs to see his physician who will check a blood test to make sure he has no blood problems such as a low platelet count, which is not likely as it should also cause bruising on the skin, and if normal he needs to see physicians about the nosebleeds and blood in his stool.
