Pediatrician Questions Bedwetting

What causes bedwetting in older children?

My child is 9 and still wets his bed--I think he's too old for this. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Should I be taking him to a doctor?

Most commonly it is caused by a lack of hormone called antidiuretic hormone we make at night so we don't make much urine at night. Some children do not make enough until puberty and can wet large amounts at night just like the day. There is a pill you can take to replace this. It would be a good idea to be checked to make sure no metal stenosis or infection.
