Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Questions Jaw pain

What causes sporadic jaw pain?

I'm 30, and I noticed that my jaw has been hurting me almost every day. I usually take OTC pain relievers to manage the pain. What could be causing it?

Muscle spasms.
Most of the time, it can be related to pain on the muscles of mastication.
You didn’t specify the location or region of your jaw pain, as well as what kind of pain, dull/sharp, so I couldn’t provide any possible cause of your pain. It can be jaw joint (TMJ-tempomandibular joint), or it could be nerve pain.
