Internist Questions Rosacea

What is rosacea?

I've heard my mother saying that her friend has rosacea. I know that it is some kind of skin condition. What exactly is it?

It is many things, an inflammation and redness on the central face areas, sometimes eyes. Triggered by sun, cold/hot weather, stress, and some medications. Alcohol (especially red wines) can trigger it. Please check with your local dermatologist for treatment options.
Yes, it’s a skin condition that affects the face. It gets red and irritating. It’s not difficult to treat, though.
