A board-certified neurologist and epileptologist, Dr. Sami opened his private practice – Austin Epilepsy Care Center – in December 2003. He specializes in clinical epilepsy and seizure disorders.
The mission of Austin Epilepsy Care Center is to offer exceptional epilepsy care to every patient and to improve their quality of life by implementing the most up-to-date treatment options and research.
A Lebanon native, Dr. Sami graduated from the American University of Beirut. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency at the University of Cincinnati, where he was the recipient of the Teaching Award and served as Chief Resident. Later, he completed a fellowship in epilepsy at New York University.
An authority in his field, the doctor is double board-certified in neurology and epilepsy by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
Remaining up to date in his field, Dr. Sami is a proud member of the American Epilepsy Society, the American Academy of Neurology, and the Texas Neurological Society.
In addition to seeing patients at Austin Epilepsy Care Center, he established the comprehensive epilepsy program in Austin at the North Austin Medical Center. He has also served as a visiting speaker at multiple medical facilities.
