How often should I get my back adjusted?
There is no absolute answer to this question. Much of it depends on if you have any postural issues or if you have had any back problems in the past. Most patients in my office are seen on a 4 or 6 week maintenance schedule based upon their activity level and also if they are doing exercises each day to counteract the stressors of repetitive or constant postures and work/life conditions. This is normally after a corrective therapeutic plan to address their issues. Hope that helps give you some guidance! READ MORE

What is myofascial pain syndrome? How is it treated?
Myofascial pain syndrome is diagnosed as a result of multiple areas of acute sensitivity in muscle fibers called “trigger points,” which often refer pain to other areas of the body. It is caused by inflammation and sometimes as a stress response. Trigger points are common but not normal in muscle fibers. The condition is treatable and common treatments include chiropractic adjustments to restore nerve function to the muscle, physical therapy, massage therapy, and dry needling for pain relief and resolution of the trigger points. This is not a disease, it is easily treatable, and your wife should recover fully. Key to success of treatment is finding the underlying cause of the inflammation. Dr. Richard M. Merrion READ MORE
