Since 2018, he has excelled in the role of Chief Medical Officer at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center where his leadership has propelled the institution to become an award-winning, comprehensive destination hospital. In 2022, Dr. Varbaro assumed the additional responsibility of Vice President of Ambulatory Services, cementing his administrative presence within the Medical Center. 

In this dual role, he oversees the entire medical staff, ensures the maintenance of high standards in care quality and patient safety, and expertly manages non-clinical operations, including outpatient and offsite services.

Extending his reach and applying his esteemed skillset, Dr. Varbaro also serves as the Chief Medical Advisor to Bergen County, New Jersey, holds the position of Medical Director for all public health programs, contributes to the community as a Trustee for the Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative Board, and is an Assistant Professor within the Department of Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.

Regarding his educational history, Dr. Varbaro obtained his Medical Degree from NYU Grossman School of Medicine in 2000. Subsequently, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center from 2000 to 2003. Later, in 2013, he successfully earned a Master of Business Administration Degree from Yale School of Management.

Board certified in internal medicine, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
