  • heart rate in teens

Vyvanse is a stimulant and increases your resting heart rate, so your heart rate will the higher range of expected whether you’re at rest or with activity. A heart rate of 199 could be fine depending on your definition of “light exercise” If you were running or moving brisk enough to cause you to sweat lightly and be slightly breathless, the 199 could be fine. If light exercise is walking from the couch to the kitchen, then this would be much higher than expected. You should talk to the doctor prescribing. Yvanse for alternatives to stimulant medication. • How long will it take my daughter to recover from open heart surgery?

This would be an excellent question for the surgical team caring for your daughter. Recovery depends on the complexity of the surgery as far as length of hospital stay and how long she would be out from school, activities, etc. This is something you should have no hesitation calling and asking for someone from the surgical team to reach out to you about clarifying. • tiny residual vsd

Typically very small holes do not cause any issues, but it is important to know where it is located. If it is near areas that were repaired previously, you may need to take antibiotics before dental procedures or certain types of non cardiac surgery. This is something you should review with the cardiologist who is presently caring for you READ MORE

  • Hole in heart

First the location and size of the hole is important to determine if any symptoms are related. A small hole in the upper part of the heart (patent foramen ovale) will not cause any symptoms. A large hole in the lower part of the heart (ventricular septal defect or VSD) can cause decreased energy and appetite in certain circumstances. Many of the symptoms you listed would not correlate with a heart issue such as rashes and his blood count and iron level, so there may be other health concerns unrelated to the hole in his heart. You should consider discussing with your primary doctor a cardiac evaluation if you still have concerns regarding the hole in your son’s heart if it has not been evaluated for awhile since many of these holes seem in young infants can close spontaneously over time especially if they are small. • Low heart rate 8 year old

There are many reasons for a low heart rate in a healthy child including someone who exercises regularly with a highly aerobic activity like football. In children, the autonomic nervous system, and in particular, the parasympathetic system can also slow down heart rate and is not infrequently seen. The EKG image is blurry and is not something I could read. If you are concerned, I would ask your primary care physician and discuss the option of a pediatric cardiologist consult, but it is again likely normal and not something to be concerned about without any other symptoms or medical history.
