Following the completion of her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 1998, Dr. Sorof went on to perform her internship at Baylor Affiliated Hospitals in 1999. A year later, she completed her residencies in internal medicine at Bellevue Hospital and Baylor Affiliated Hospitals in 2000 and 2001, respectively.
Wanting to further her education, she served as a research fellow within the Departments of Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine and VA Hospital. This was followed by a fellowship in cardiology within the Heart and Vascular Department of MetroHealth Medical Center in 2006, and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the Medical College of Virginia in 2007.
Specializing in the medical treatment of adults, Dr. Sorof is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). She is also a current member of the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association, Phoenix Chapter (previously serving as President of the Board of Directors).
Demonstrating a mastery of basic knowledge and skills, she is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
