The broken toe would have to be X-Rayed to make sure there is no displacement and the bones are in the proper position. And then it will be decided the best treatment. Which sometimes can just be body splinting of the toe, if the fractured pieces are properly aligned. READ MORE

When can I walk after hammertoe surgery?
Depending on the procedure selected, most patients are able to resume some walking within a few days with a surgical or post-operative shoe. In my practice, most my patients are placed back into sneaker after 3 weeks, and a normal shoe within 5-8 weeks after surgery. READ MORE
Can hammer toes come back after surgery?
The possibility does exist but we try to select procedures depending on the position of the foot and the foot type to decrease the reoccurrence of the condition. Over my 20 years of practice, i've had one or two cases that had to be revised. READ MORE
