A dedicated infectious disease specialist, Dr. Ognjan is in practice with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants, LLC in Michigan. He specializes in dealing with a broad array of diseases caused by germs, ranging from flu to hospital acquired infections to pneumonia.

In 1994, Metro Infectious Disease Consultants (MIDS) was established with eight infectious disease physicians working in the Chicago area. Based on the philosophy that strategic growth and market neutrality would optimize patient care and physician lifestyle, MIDS has grown to be the largest infectious disease group in the country. 

At present time, MIDC is composed of over 100 ID physicians working in multiple states. Outpatient antibiotic therapy is available at each of the offices and a Hospital Avoidance Program has been implemented. 

Regarding his educational background, Dr. Ognjan has a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and pharmacy from Michigan State University / Ferris State College. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1983. He followed up with an internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in infectious diseases at Henry Ford Hospital, completing his training in 1989.

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the doctor is board-certified in infectious disease and internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.

Licensed to practice medicine in Michigan, Dr. Ognjan has medical privileges at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital – Clinton Township and McLaren Macomb Hospital.
