Dr. Beck is the only female urologist in Chicago who is fellowship-trained in female urology. She is currently a part of the team of medical professionals at Chicago Urogynecology, located in Lincoln Park on Chicago’s Northside.

Her clinical interests include urogynecology, urodynamics, interstim therapy, pelvic prolapse repair, incontinence, pelvic pain, female urology, pelvic floor assessment (urinary problems), female sexual dysfunction, male urology, the da Vinci surgical system, and bladder dysfunction.

The physicians of Chicago Urogynecology have more than 100 years of experience treating pelvic disorders. With a team approach to care, physicians, nurses, and physical therapists apply their combined expertise in a range of conditions and therapies to provide individualized treatment for each patient.

Among her other roles, Dr. Beck is the Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Cook County Health, and holds a staff position at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

Also, she enjoys her teaching responsibilities of the residents at Rush University Medical Center, the Feinberg School of Medicine – Northwestern University, and the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dr. Beck is a graduate of Stanford University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. She then went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, after which she completed a residency in urology at the University of Chicago.

Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Beck furthered her urologic training by completing a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at Cedar-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California.

On a professional level, she is a member of the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction, the National Medical Association, and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, the Society of Women in Urology, the American Urological Association, and the Chicago Urological Society.

Board-certified in both urology & female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Beck is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology (ABU). The mission of the ABU is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, and working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care.

Urology, also known as genitourinary surgery, is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs. Urologists specialize in diseases of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system. Patients may be referred to a urologist if their physician suspects they may need treatment for a condition relating to the bladder, prostate, urethra, ureters, kidneys, and adrenal glands.

With over three decades of clinical experience, Dr. Beck serves on the Executive Board of the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, is a former executive board member of Howard Brown Health, and serves on the Vestry of SPR Episcopal Church. 

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, fishing, and traveling with her spouse and their two dogs, Bella and Monti.
